unusual high rpms
when i first got my car a couple of years ago you could do about 60 mph at about 2 grand now at 60 its 4500 is my clutch going out? all my vacuum lines are good please help.

How much clutch pedal travel is left? Does it smell hot, grab, chatter or do you ever have difficulty putting it in or shifting gears? When in gear and you hit the throttle, does it rev and not move forward as it should?

More likely, your tach is going out.... failing by reading high, which is the way they always do....

it wont let you shift from 4th to third you got to go back down to 2nd and back up to third. and ya it smells hot everyonce in awhile and my car starts running a temp of about 220. and sometimes it feels like the clutch dosnt engage and it pops the shifter back out but it has full travel it still goes fine and everything else. but if u punch it it seems like it just stays inplace but if u gradually get on it she will scoot
