Sensor Opinions needed...
I've removed and polished my intake, runners, TB, and a exhaust pipe elbow for my air intake that came out surprisingly well. Before I put all this stuff back on and post pics I need help with 2 sensors....
First is I believe a temperature sensor that screws into the underside of the Plenum somewhat near the f.p. regulator. It looks really crappy. Should I just clean it off or buy a new one and does it matter much?
Second and more importantly I've had idle problems since owning my 87 305 tpi trans am. I think its the IAC. Its really really carboned up in there. Should I just throttle body clean the heck out of it and call hope for the best or reinstall a new one while its off. Though I'm handy with tools and somewhat knowledgeable (sp? lol) the 'how to adjust IAC' in the tech board looks like a real p.i.t.a$$. Can I get some opinions before I put it back together this weekend? As a sidenot I'm worried if I mess withe IAC myself I'll send a spring or IAC part up through the bore in the TB right into my engine. Thanks please help.

Clean the TB and change the IAC, just take your time and read, then follow the insturctions. the IAC should be 1 1/8 in from end to the gasket.
The temp sensor, if cheap enough, replace.
