what sensor do I need?

Hi all. I have an 86 trans am. Originall, the car was a 305 TPI. It now has a 355 with a miniram on it. The harness is out of an 88 TPI car, but I had my PROM reflashed to a stock 89 350TPI setting, and then tuned to what I have done to the motor from there. My question is, right above where the oil filter is on the block, is an oil pressure sensor. There wasn't anything there with the 86 motor, but apparently the newer cars had a sensor. 88 and 89 models come up with different sensors, so I am not sure if I need the sensor out of an 88, or an 89, or if I don't even need one at all? Please help, the car is almost ready to fire up for the first time in 2 years!!! There is a red plug there on the 88 harness as well if that helps.

Re: what sensor do I need?

i would look at both sensors at the parts counter and see if the plug is different. that may make it easier, other then that i dont think it will make a difference.
