Compression Question...
What would be the highest compression ratio that i could use with ethanol? ethanol i read has an octane rating of around 105? and if i was to use a water/methanol inkection on top of that how much would be do-able? 11-13?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Compression Question...
you can do 11 or 11.5 with 92 octane fuel and aluminum heads
i do on my small block
im assumin you have older technology ie, sbc bbc sbf bbf etc
not an lsx engine

Re: Compression Question...
yeah, its an 88 305...i am looking at some pistons that would get me to 12. something with 54cc chambers, and i am pretty sure i could not do that with 92 octane... but with (technically) 102 octane, would this be possible?

Re: Compression Question...
i am not sure if it was 12 something or 11 something...but i want to make more power and since i am going to be running on ethanol i figured i could take it up higher since ethanol has a octane rating equivalent to 102-105, or so i read...
