poping thru intake? need to start for break in

poping thru intake? need to start for break in
hi guys. im tryin to fire up the 383 and it trys to start then just pops thru the intake with a puff of smoke 
. i checked the valves and ther not to tight. i also belive the dist is in correct #1 tdc both valves closed rotor point in the general direction of the #1 hole
please help!!

Pull the distributor and turn it 180*.
