EGR is the problem?
Ok guys,
You may remember me having all kinds of problems with my distributor. Distributor is now correctly installed. Here's my thing. While I was having problems with the Distributor (because my timing light has a dial on the back and I'm retarded and didn't see the dial) I thought I was having problems elsewhere because my timing was "Dead On". So I took my electronic EGR (which had been throwing codes on occasion) apart and sprayed the chambers with carb spray. The EGR is not throwing codes anymore - I've tested it by getting up to 60 mph or so and cruising for a minute and backing off - no codes. But my car is surging when slowing down to a stop or at idle if I sit for a while, usually only after getting on it a little. Spark plugs, wires, distributor, ICM, Cap and Rotor are all new. This was happening before I replaced the distributor, so I believe it wasn't something I installed incorrectly. I also dropped the vacuum reservoir when I got in a front end collision. So what do you think? Should I start checking sensors? Where can I find how to test and what numbers I should have. I was thinking IAC, TPS, MAP, O2. Sound like a good place to start? Any other things to check? Could it be my EGR even with no codes?
