Starter heat soak?
okay so its startin to heat up here in arizona and my coolant fan is still not working properly, i just keep it on at all times, but my problem is if i run the car and then shut it off, i'll go to start it and it will have a slow crank, now if the car is cold it has a strong crank and fires right up. I think its heat soak and the only way to avoid that is : remote mounted solenoid, correct?
Heres the catch, the previous owner installed one, how would i check to make sure its working properly? is it possible for that relay to be getting hot and causing the slow crank? Its mounted up by my strut on the passenger side, any help would be appreciated

From what I understand, a remote solenoid won't help a slow crank condition, only a no crank condition. If you're sure the timing isn't too advanced then I guess there's nothing to do but overhaul or exhange the starter. A geared mini-starter might be a good choice.

Re: Starter heat soak?
i dont think that an overhaul would do it because its crank is based on the engine temp, when its hot, the engine cranks slow and when its cold it cranks normal
I have been looking to replace the starter but like i said the previous owner wired in a remote starter relay and i havent had the time to go through and try to un-do it
