Where are the Jack points?
Hope this isn't a stupid question, but where should I put the jack under my 91 rs convertible?
My chiltons manual shows jack points but the under side of my car looks nothing like the diagram in the manual. There are rails just inside the GFX, but they appear to be square tube sheet metal, not actual frame rails.
I don't actuall see two straight rails like in the picture in the manual. The only things that look anything like those rails is way closer to the center of the center of the car and it doesn't look like the car would be stable on jack stands there. I have a feeling I'm missing the obvious here. Anybody have a photo? thanks

Re: Where are the Jack points?
These are subframed cars, they dont have frame rails.
There are 'rails' that look like they are built into the body that have holes in them for jack stands (i presume) in the front and back very near the edge of the car by where the gfx would be that I use and they are strong enough. I like to use the rear end and subframe underneath the engine. This is on an 87 btw.
You could use the engine balancer if you were desprete enough (please dont), the moral is, if it looks alright it probably will be, just dont get under it unless its fully supported.
