That tutorial doesn't help me, what is the EXACT number I am supposed to get with a VOM when Wide open throttle? Do I use the top two holes? How do you make a jumper wire for a three prong sensor and do you NEED one or can I just put the testers in two of the holes? Please help.

Make jumper wires and leave enough room to connect the volt meter.
Test TPS voltage with ignition key in on position but the car not running.
Test between the top wire and middle wire. Testing between top and bottom wires will give you a constant voltage of 6 volts I believe.
With no throttle I think that voltage on your car should be 0.47 volts and at WOT it should read over 4.5 volts.
It is actually a quick and easy procedure.

Thank you for your help. I am getting a reading of 3 volts with no throttle and 6 when wide open... The sensor is brand new. I take it that's not normal?

No, it is not normal.
I am assuming that your car is the 86 TPI with MAF correct?
On speed density TPI cars, 1990 to 92 the TPS is not adjustable and normal voltage reading at no throttle is between 0.7 and 1 volt if I recall correctly.
On your MAF car it should be between 0.47 and 0.63 volts if I remember correctly.
However, the high reading could be due to an ill adjusted base idle, since the adjusting screw is the very same that controls the throttle stop on the driver side of the throttle body.
This is why it is important to first check and make sure that base timing is set properly and also that base idle is set properly with the IAC disconnected. Then check TPS voltage and how the TPS operates. You should be able to adjust the TPS by loosening the torx screws that hold it in place, and moving it until you get withing the range of voltage that you need to have.

First off, thank you very much for your help. I grounded the ALDL (or whatever the term is) and my SES started giving my the code 22 (TPS) and the fan turned on. I let it go that way for about 30 seconds and then I disconnected the IAC. I took the ground out and turned the ignition off. Then I turned the car over and it would not stay running. I held my foot on the gas to keep it running at about 750 but it will not idle on it's own with the IAC disconnected. So I ended up just turning the screw to extend the throttle stop with the IAC plugged in and I'm sure that does not fix my ECU controlled idle but it at least prevents my car from stalling like it used to. Any suggestions on how to keep it running with it disconnected? I just installed a new IAC less than a week ago so I can't be dirty or have build up already.

Can you adjust the screw on the TB to where the car idles at 450 rpm with the IAC disconnected. I think that the paper clip needs to be in the ALDL while the car is running in order for that to happen. There is an article in the tech articles on this website that tells exactly how to set adjust it. I just don't remember if the paper clip needs to be in the ALDL while doing this.
