burnt a pinhole into a fuel line
Okay, know that lil thing you see on every automotive help sheet "before stating disconnect negative battery cable" well,, they were right.
installed my system today, was putting the amp fuse into it's case, thought i had my kill switch OFF(wrong), and the hot side of the fuse circuit touched my fuel line.. well it didn't look like it did a thing other then scorch the fuse holder so i thought nothing of it. Then after finishing up the install, i start the car go to check te engine bay and, smell gas. i burnt a damn pinhole into the fuel line! i dunno if it's the return line or the feed but it's a tiny hole, car still idles fine. obviously i can't have this leak though so,, any suggestions? jb weld? Only thing i can think of is to cut the line and throw a bit of rubber hose over the whole deal with four compression fittings.

Re: burnt a pinhole into a fuel line
it's the return side, smaller hose. while i was away i used a few inches of hose and 3 alligator clamps to cover and clamp it.
it's not ideal, but the hole was really really small. even if the rubber somehow came off it does little more then sputter out of it, and i let it run for a goodwhile and kept coming back and looking for dampness and feeling around it, nothing. i understand the danger but i'm positive it will not do anything but possibly seep, and i'm in the engie bay almost everyday so i would know quite quickly.
i just need it to last the summer, till the engine bay is dissasembled and i can replace the old lines.
thanks for the input
