Seems like its flooding under load
I Ihave an 88 350 tpi. It's living in an 84 Trans Am. I did not do the swap. The car will try to catch on the first couple of cranks, but it only chugs a couple of times and then dies. If I put my foot in it while cranking it will fire, chug slowly and pick up speed (like an old locomotive). Then it goes into high idle. It will rev fine (just a little shuddering). But when I put it in gear and give it throttle It seems to choke out(shudder) and start missing. I checked the fuel pressure. When I prime the pump it jumps to about 42, sometimes the pressure will stay there for a few seconds before slowly bleeding down to 39 or so. Other times it will prime to 42 and then instantly drop to about 30 when the pump stops running. At idle the pressure stays at 46. The car won't die or anything while it's running but it acts like it's flooding itself. Also when I unplug the est connector while the car is running, it does not change idle speed or sound, or set an check engine code. I've actually even unplugged the est module and still no difference, or code. Thanks for your advice.

Re: Seems like its flooding under load
if you are losing pressure once the pump shuts off you need to check your fuel pressure reg make sure that is holding pressure... then you need to check your injectors...
when you are starting the car at WOT you arent actually feeding the engine any more fuel... that is a tool used to clear a flooded engine i am guessing your injectors leak like a sive
