Idle Air Speed Screw

This is on a 87 Trans Am GTA / 350TPI L98

So I adjusted the Idle Air Speed Screw because I felt the idle was to low and almost on the verge of a stall.

I saw this sticker under the hood telling me NOT to mess around with this screw after I messed around with the screw (Figures)

So I guess what i'm wondering is did i damage anything by messing around with this screw? Do I have to reset anything now? because it seems the ECM controls the idle? correct?

I did disconnected and reconnect the battery after every adjustment.

I did notice drivability issues after setting the screw tho...the idle just seemed all over the place not to mention it would stall out and bog down.

Heres what i adjusted it to:

Heres what i put it back to:

I figured this was the place it was at stock originally because of the wear on the inside of the Screw hole, and the throttle linkage wear.

seems odd its backed off all the way.

I "kinda" remember it being like that originally...but im just not sure

Does this look like the correct position for the screw?

Re: Idle Air Speed Screw

that screw should just hold the blades off the bores to prevent them from getting stuck closed

Re: Idle Air Speed Screw

There is a procedure for adjusting that screw. Perform a SEARCH of the board archives for "throttle minimum air" adjustment and you should find plenty of help.
