Stamped numbers on a pad in the block in front of the passenger side head.

Casting numbers just give you a rough idea about the casting. Casting numbers can at least let you know if it's a 305 or 350 block but won't tell you what the engine was out of..

Re: Help looking up an engine code.

That's not a casting number but it's what I wanted.

V = Flint Michigan engine plant
1205 = December 5
UZH = 1991 350 from a truck. Rated at 210 HP with a TBI. RPO code L05

Re: Help looking up an engine code.

Thanks. Didnt really give me the info i wanted but maybe you can still help. Here is my problem, my buddy bought a 91 blazer from his uncle. His uncle said the engine was a 350 4 bolt main. My buddy blew up his engine, so last weekend we tore it apart to find out it was a 2 bolt main. We want to know if this is the stock engine or if somebody switched it out. Thank you for all your help.

Re: Help looking up an engine code.

There should be another set of numbers stamped into the block in the same location. Those numbers will match the last numbers in the VIN number of the vehicle.
