fuel issues
Hello people i thank you in advance to anyone that might be able to breathe some light into this for me. so here she goes..
I have an 87 firebird i have replaced the old 305 with gm crate 350. i thought i had a bad fuel pump so i put in a high performance edelbrock with a regulator.
Now that i can see whats going on it seems that when i start her evrything is good and i have a steady 4.5 psi but after 10 mins of mild driving or when i put it under heavy load( burnouts or high rpm) i lose pressure and power and it slowly gets worse ans sometimes runs out of fuel.i have heard theri is a kink directly out of the gas tank that is restricting my flow, can anyone confirm this?
the edelbrock pump did not have a return so i plugged it aswell as the charcoal line.my 350 is basically stock. any ideas?

Re: fuel issues
how hot are your fuel lines getting? I had the same problem with my car after I switched to a holley fuel pump. my fuel lines were to close to the exhaust and the gas was boiling.

Re: fuel issues
My fuel lines seem fine but i thought i heard boiling in the carb the other day when i was mucking around after i ran it for awhile
this problem has been around since i swapped the motor. my fuel lines are in factory locations. i do have an edelbrock intake and i'm still running a rochester.but it just died so now i'm hoping to replace shortly with a street demon.

Re: fuel issues
sounds like your getting some vapor lock in your fuel lines and or carb bowls.. try wrapping your fuel lines with heat protective wrapping and make sure your operating temp of the engine isnt too high and if it is.. try bringing the thermostat down to a lower operating temp by replacing it with one of a lower opening temp
