for the love of god make it go away!!!!!!!!

ok so i just got a 92 firebird... v6

now 1st i wanna say im not f body buff..

Gbodys, turbo regals and dsms.. i know alot...

ok so my problem...

i have this ungodly loud whistle....

i check all the vacuum lines and so far i cant find the problem..

so i think its vacuum leak why..

beacuse it only does it when at vacuum...

after 1200rpms it starts to quite and by 15/1700 its gone....

it sounds like its comeing somewhere near the back like by the distrubuter

i have no idea but it SOOOO irritating driving my car..

any ideas..

been doin research.. could be a cracked intake gasket..???

i tried to take the intake off... took out the ten upper bolts..but didnt cme off.. is tehre any hiddon bolts

update...

i know its somewhere near the back side pass fuel inj.

when i sprayed carb cleaner on the last inj. it stopped..

i dont thinki its the inj. i think its somewhere near it...

is there a trick to getting the intake off?

Just remove the 12 bolts and "jiggle" with it, the gasket will have sucked on to the intake and heads, just take an rubberhammer and hit it gently and the intake will loosen..

Intake gasket leak is pretty common. So it may be between the head and intake it takes in some air..

Get an vacuum gauge and have your vacuum checked to, should put out around ~18 / 20 on a healty engine.

and you did say v6, wonder if it got 12 bolts, maybe its just 10 bolts on that one..

Its not that expensive on summit

Ooh yeah, its 2.30 at day here in Sweden, sitting in the sun and eating my ice cream.. and I will take a run in the Camaro later if the sun keeps hitting us
