erratic spark at plug wires
350 TPI. I just had the injectors replaced. Changed the plugs and wires yesterday. Hooked up my inductive pickup timing light to check timing. The light does not flash steady. There seems to be somewhat of a pattern to the flashes but it stops flashing, flashes a few times, stops flashing, flashes once, stops flashing, etc. What components would you say are the culprit? I swapped the distributor out with another one I had and still the same problem. I replaced the coil, dist cap, and rotor last summer. But haven't checked the timing for quite a while. Thank you.

Whats it run like?
Some timing lights do that, they just don't pick up a good signal, especially if you have some good wires.
You pretty much swapped/replaced everything.

Re: erratic spark at plug wires
It seems to run alright, a little hot temp wise. But I guess you're right, if it was really missing as bad as the light says it is, it probably wouldn't run at all. Should I just try a different timing light? By the way The plug wires I bought and installed are $26.99 7mm omni spark junk, and the timing light was just used two nights before on my dads truck. At that time it worked perfectly (350 TBI). Still think it's just the light? Thoughts, opinions?

I forgot to ask, did you disconnect the wire plug from the distributor when you checked it? I think its called the ecs plug? If not, it will give a faulty reading.
