quick opinions wanted on a trade

So, a mechanic who was recently very hlepfull to me, is up my butt trying to get my first car, a 92 rs heritage edition with an l03,a4,2.73's w/posi, and a full professional paint job. The car looks better then new in and out an i've been meaning to sell it for some time for about 3k. Thing is he doesn't have patience, or money, so he's trying to trade me his drive line from a monte carlo he currently owns and has just recently finished putting together. He's offering me the driveshaft (custom built 3 inch driveshaft made for high hp, he said the stock ones are rated for up to 300 hp), a turbo 400 with a "stage 3 shift kit" whatever that means, and a 350 with a holley 650 double pumper, a performer RPM intake, WP torquer s/r's (the ones with the bigger valves, 2.02 and 1.60), flat top pistons, and a stock refurbished bottom end. The cam in the motor had .488/.5?? lift, unknown LSA, and md 230's duration, but it comes with a computer performance cam which i haven't found out much about yet, he claims this combo has pushed the late eighties monte to 13.2's and puts 370 to the rear wheels. that sounds a lil quick/powerful for a very mild build in a very heavy car, does it sound on target?

I have no interest in the intake, i want to keep my TPI which is stock, i have no supporting mods either, pretty much the car has a cat back and i have diy tuning equipment to make it all work, i don't want or need a turbo 400, or the driveshaft for that matter. so i'd probably be going for this engine, installed in my car and roughly 500 dollars for my camaro.

Now, i have a full new low miles l98 in my now retired GTA i've been planning on swapping into my project car, an 85 t/a with tpi. What do you guys think of this motor the guy has, are the wp heads much better then fresh low miles l98's? frankly i'm leaning towards telling him cash only beut he's really pushin this deal along quick, which makes me wary. let me know what you think.

hold out for cash... if he is pushing that bad it is because he know it isnt worth it... he might... and i mean MIGHT have $1000 into that engine complete... the TH400 i have one with almost 10000 miles on it that i cant give away...and a driveshaft? what are you going to do with that?

well that's what i was thinkin, i don't want the tranny, the driveshaft, the intake/carb, he claims 2k in to the engine, it's a 72 or 74 block bored 40 over, the only real question was whether or not the heads were that great but, i don't think they're enough of a step over stock to justify not using my own newer stuff, it would probably be a wash on power after the loss of supporting mods and the cam change. does that combo even sound capable of the power he's claiming? 370 to the wheels is like, 440 at the crank, which seems like alot on the peices he's got.

welp, he'll have to come up with the money, sounds like i can come out better for it just getting the cash.
