What head to buy?
What head to buy?
not sure what head would work best. looking for the most power.
89' L98 short block(fresh) stock pistons. 286h comp cam eldelbrock rpm intake with 1850 holley. heads two to choose from.
1) set of reworked 58cc 601's with 2.02 1.60 ported and polished
2) set of 1968 292 camel backs( duble hump) with 63cc 1.94 1.50
what would flow better?

Re: What head to buy?
camel backs would flow more, but do they have accessory holes for your PS pump, alt, etc?
If not, then the 601's will work. I wouldn't bother putting in 2.02's and 1.60's in them though (or has it already been done?)
Not the right head for those valves.

Re: What head to buy?
I know they will, I've made very close to that with NO port work and 1.94/1.60 valves installed. Clean up the ports a little and you should be able to hit that with the right CR and cam. Those heads like a cam with a bit more duration on the exhaust side though.
601s are actually closer to 53cc, so be careful of compression - it can get out of hand pretty easy with these heads. They are really good heads though, I like them.
