Questions after cam swap

I just swapped in a new camshaft in my motor. My questions are around what should I set my timing to and what should my minimum idle speed be set at? The cam has specs of 260/260 duration, .444/.444 lift 112 LSA. Motor is a 305 TPI.

Re: Questions after cam swap

doesnt seem like a very big cam, should idle fine around 700 rpm and like about 16-18 degrees timing total at idle. basically it should idle ok on stock timing specs as i think stock tables have around 16-18 at idle. i'd have to double check that but i'd just set base timing 2-4 degrees more advanced and run that if you dont have tuning equipment to burn your own chips

TPI?

Run it at the stock specs.

Re: Questions after cam swap

Shouldnt I advance the timing more though because of the larger cam that I put in?

Set it at stock spec. Drive/run it.

Advance it 2 degrees. Drive/run it.

Repeat until it runs worse, then back it down to the previous setting.
