dumb question on fuel injector wires please help

I have a 91 ta with a 305 tpi and I changed the intake gaskets, I dont know much about tpi but I labeled everything and came up at the end to discover that the drivers side injectors numbers I put on were gone. Do the injector wires have to be in sequence like 1-2-3-4 or can they be crossed? one mechanic here tells me no and one tells me its ok to mix them up. it seems to run ok just didnt want to screw anything up. Any info greatly appreciated

They are batch fire injectors. It doesn't matter if you mix them up as long as the left side stays on the left and right stay on right. When TPI injectors fire, the whole side fires at the same time then the other side fires.
