No MAF sensor?

I was reading around a bit and saw that in 1990 they stopped using MAF sesnors in the firebirds...My trans am is throwing a code saying there is high voltage at the MAF sensor...but it doesn't have an MAF sensor, i already checked. So i don't know what is up with my car,any help?

Re: No MAF sensor?

i believe its because in 1990 our cars changed from MAF to SD which is speed density, therefor it doesnt use the MAF infront of the throttle body

Re: No MAF sensor?

You need to check your codes against a list for 1990, instead of an earlier year.

Re: No MAF sensor?

IIRC, the same code numbers for maf hi/lo correspond to a maP signal being high or low.

I'd also include the code number in post about an error code. It is sort of diagnostically useful information.

Check that the map sensor wires, and vacuum line, are connected, and in good condition.
