I need help!!!! I plugled my phone charger into the lighter and imediatetly the fuse went. So i tried replacing the fuse and as soon as it touches the spot were the fuse sits in it breaks again. I check the lighter itself but i cant figure out whats wrong. Any ideas? HELP!!!

 

u have a short sumwhere or a bad ground thats causing the fuse to blow... u need to find it

 

i followed all the things wired to that fuse but i still cant figure it out. I will keep messing with it today and see if i can figure somethingout

 

My car does the exact same thing. Fuse pops immediately upon putting in my cell phone charger. I don't even bother with it anymore, just make sure to charge my phone every night.
By the way, the cigarette lighter works perfectly, I smoke so it gets used often.

are u sticking the correct amp fuse in the right place? maybe u should increase the fuse boy 5 amps. like if its a 10amp fuse increase it to 15amps. see if that works. cell phone DC chargers use about 2.5amp fuses... i kno that bc i tore one apart along with a radar gun etc... wat i did was i wired a 5 fuse block to the fuse panel but under the center consol and this allowed me to run 5 diff items with 2.5amps fuse for each item so i didnt have this ugly monstrosity of DC cigarette plugs at the cigarette lighter... also alowed me to run up 2 5 things at once with the saftey of each itembeing fused before the fuse panel.
