Block and Heads
I replaced the long block of my 305 LG4 this week and got a replacement long block. Here are the specs...
14093627 is cast on the block, which I believe is from a 1987-94 305 with a roller or flat tappet cam and one piece rear seal and 2 main caps.
376450 Cylinder head stamping, which should be from a 1975-81 262/267 or 305 with 6 or 7 axhaust bolt holes and 60 cc Chambers.
CKF(E)-138733 was stamped on the ledge behind the heads it looked like a 'F' but all I could find was for an 'E'. I found something indicating it is a 305 from a LB9 F with 205 HP and TPI from a Firebird/Monte Carlo.
It also was stamped with 5.0L G...my old engine was an H...anything to worry about, do these things correspond?
Question...how do these new heads compare to a set of World Products S/R Torquer's that I had originally purchased for the now dead stock engine?
Should I stick with them or swap in the Torquers?
Would this block be considered a direct replacement for my original engine...in case I run into problems buying parts or anything.
Is there any advantages to my new set up vs what I had...besides the obvious that it will run when my old one would not

Re: Block and Heads
I would venture to say that the World Products heads are better that stockers. And it should be a direct replacement. Probably not a roller block though. But, somebody who knows more can tell you that.
