Fuel pump wont turn on after battery relocation

I moved my battery to the trunk today and i have power everywhere. Motor will turn over fine but i noticed i have no fuel pressure. I then listend for the pump to kick on with Key On, and i get nothing

No fuel pressure at all.

All i did was move the battery to the rear. Here's what i did.

i kept ground strap from head to the chassis. This used to connect to stock battery neg terminal.

I moved battery to the rear and grounded it to the trunk floor pan.

Alternator is run directly to the battery. i have a cutoff switch between the battery and starter.

Car has power everywhere but the fuel pump. I also notice my ground switch to turn the fan on doesnt work now either. I checked fuses and relays and its not that.

I did accidently close the circuit between ground and positive while installing the cables. heck of a spark and flash but i dont think that will hurt anything. I also welded the nuts for the batter hold down clamps to the trunk floor, but i welded on the car before and nothing happened so i dont think that could have caused anything.

Could it be too many grounds or a bad ground?

Not completely familiar with your set-up or the original car configuration, but I believe the ECM power comes off of the battery cable. Did you hook that back up somehow?

Or, you might have fried a fusible link.

Re: Fuel pump wont turn on after battery relocation

car is all original wiring, 89 TPI harness.

well the alternator wire originally went to the battery line...but there was a round connection of some sort that looked like a black cylinder with a small wire running to it as well. i thought it was just a holder but that small wire may be tapping into that power line. I'll have to try and see if that is the case

That's the power to the ECM. The black cylinder is a fuse holder.

Wow, a shot in the dark and right on target.

Every once in awhile, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn.

Glad that took care of it.
