Hey guys i have a 1983 firebird s/e with 5.0 carb engine. I am removing the engine and putting it in a 69 camaro. I want to remove all emissions and not use the pc is this possible? If not can i use the pc without emissions? Thanks!

 

technically yes, you can swap the engine and if you dont use the pc you will need another carb (if its comp controlled) and a vacuum distributor

if its comp controlled and you use the pc you will be better off

you can remove the a.i.r. system and even the cat and it might pass emissions depending on how picky they are, if it needs to pass for a 69 camaro standard then you can remove everything, but if it needs to pass for 83 305 standard then put a cat on the 69 and you can still remove the a.i.r. system

 

Not to affend you by any means but why would you put a very detuned 305 into a 69' camaro

 

maybe its got that straight six in it, would be an upgrade on hp but i think that six has more tq. fuel economy would be the same i think
