need an oil cooler
I dont want to put on anything used
I want to know what aftermarket piece works well
nothing too expensive
just want to keep it cool

The '91 TPI should already have one on it.

It is the best setup because it speeds warming of the oil during cold operation where one that uses air delays it.
If this was removed for some reason, it should be put back on. There is nothing wrong with using a used one if it isn't corroded and has been cleaned properly. Getting the right amount of coolant thru an aftermarket one without disrupting the cab heater operation is tricky. Too much flow and the heater doesn't work, too little and the cooler won't cool the oil.

thank you for the reply but my car came with a 3.1
the setup is currently out of an 89 tpi formula without an oil cooler
I am not putting anything used on it period
what is the best aftermarket kit to use

THIS ONE would be better than nothing. I believe it doesn't flow until the oil gets hot.
