What for are these (2)

Hi,
The second question is I found vacuum line disconnected found from this unit

going to this place of TBI carb:

Again on my friends Camaro 1991 this vacuum line was connected, on mine Camaro 1991 (350 TBI) the line was disconnected and closed.

The question is what for is this unit and must it be connected to the TBI carb or not?

Thanks again for the help

Re: What for are these (2)

The device in the top pic looks like the EGR control solenoid.

Re: What for are these (2)

That is pretty much a loaded question...

EGR means Exhuast Gas Recirculation. The solenoid is what controls the EGR valve so it can open and close... do its job.

As for whether you need it or not depends on your state/county and the local emissions laws.
