Humb sound while rolling
Humb sound while driving
Last night i changed some vacuum hoses and cables.
On the way home the car started buzzing and humming when I didn't give it any gas, but as soon as I gave it gas it stopped.
It only sounds when the engine is hot and stops as soon as i stop the car (it doesn't sound when the car is idling).
The sound comes from the engine apartment in front of the passenger seat.
I have a 88 trans am 305 aut.
Pleas forgive my poor English, I'm from Sweden

spray some brake clean or some starting fluid around the motor and see if you have any vaccum leaks

Re: Humb sound while rolling
check your egr hoses, they are on the passenger side and would only make that noise while its running and at idle (no pedal)
Re: Humb sound while rolling
I've just checked the EGR hoses and they looked alright, but i have been having trouble with the EGR for some time, so maybe it's the EGR valve? (think it's called that). I'm going the a engine workshop next week and program the ECM to "forget" the EGR, so then it will never open at all. If it's the EGR, the problem would go away when I do that. (?)
