305 Vortec heads... anybody???

Ive searched and havent found anybody talk about the 305 vortec heads. I am currently running HO heads and want to upgrade. I have a set of the 305 vortecs and a set of 882's. I could have the 882's shaved to get the right cc's. Im not looking to drop alot in the upgrade but want it to be a good improvement.

Of those 3, the best money would be spent improving your stock heads. Basic port clean-up, 1.94" intake (and 1.60" exhaust if you want), with cam and exhaust upgrades, you'll be grinnin'.

Uh, which engine are these going on?

305, Comp XE268 cam, Performer RPM, 600 holley, th350, 2400 stall now but swapping for a 3000, shorties, headman y-pipe, hooker car back. I'm also thinking about dropping the hooker and adding a bullet and dumping it.

Yep, the stock heads would work great.
Throw the 882's out the window, those are the worst of the worst.

305 Vortecs would work ok, but you'd need a new intake manifold...
