silly gas tank problem .
i have owned many 3rd gens and other cars for that matter but never had this problem i have with my 88 iroc .
when i go to put gas in my car it will come shooting out of the filler neck as fast as you put it in unless you put it in REALLY slowly .
this is really annoying because i am constantly spilling gas down my quarter panel not to mention wasting it , and it takes forever to fill the dam thing .
any ideas ?

here is a better question , do these cars have a valve in the filler neck ? ill bet that is the problem if there is .. just thinking out loud
