350tpi vaccum question

hey guys

i just knotice thats right or not. anyways my car idels a little off, its about 600rpm, im not sure if thats normal. i added a k&n filter and now hear a hissing noise, which u do get from those, but i think something is wrong, i swapped to stock filter back and same thing. its on the pass side only. help. thanks

Check to see if you didn't knock a vacuum hose off of the charcoal cannister.

idle for a 350tpi is from 450-600 in idle. the K&N filter is a TB mounted one?? im guessing bc yours is a 91 so its SD. there are really only 2 vacume lines on the TB... the one below the TB on the driver side its literally underneath the TB(connects with a 90 degree rubber end to the nipple fitting of the underside of the TB) the other is to the charcol canister and PCV system.

the hissing noise is most likely the air being sucked in through the new high flow filter... the stock stuff has silencers etc to quiet it but it also restricts flow... a good intake should be unrestrictive and LOUD! u will hear the air being sucked in even when the hood is closed... i can hear it on my 86TA and 87 formula 350. hope this helps
