200,000 miles.. what to expect?
Yesterday my 92 GTA hit 200,000 miles. Since I still have the original engine what can I expect? Most belt driven accessories have been replaced as well as the radiator so the only thing I haven't messed with is the engine itself.. well besides new plugs, wires, and dist cap and rotor. Aside from diminished gas mileage she runs great. Anything I'm going to have to do soon? suggestions for keeping the engine running smooth? Thanks in advance!

Change the oil and oil filter regularly, and keep a clean air filter in it.

Re: 200,000 miles.. what to expect?
Any suggestions on getting the gas mileage back up to original? It runs about 16-18 MPG, however about 5 or 6 years ago I remember it getting closer to 20 to 25. Could this be because the catalytic converters have been removed, or is it just something that comes with the age of the car?
I was kinda hoping to find out what engine parts commonly wear down and need replacing, something a little deeper than regular maintenance, so I can prepare myself for that.

Do a compression test, see where your at for your bottom end, if you have TPI there is a fuel system cleaner they hook to your fuel rail that makes it like new again, way better than the add-to-tank stuff. If your timing chain is original or has alot of play in it, I would suggest changing that soon. Have it plugged into a snap-on diagnostics computer and see how all of your sensors are doing. Do a fuel pressure test make sure your pump is good. Do you have good oil pressure? Hows the tranny holding up? Rear-end fluid changed since youve owned it? Hope this helps a little more.
