Hooker 2460s and Plugs.

Alright, Im having issues with my 2460s, melted the plug wires, so Im replacing the plugs and wires. I bought some Accel U Groove Shorty Plugs, and Accel 9000 Series wires. Got the drivers side done completely, and the front plug on the passenger side. But I cant get at any of the other ones on the passenger side, do I have to take the header off, or are there any tricks?

Re: Hooker 2460s and Plugs.

ive got ngk stand size plugs 750 reach. not a problem. i use a 5/8 wrench on some and for the hard ones that i dont want to risk rounding off i take a regular 5/8 in spark plug socket and cut off about 1/4 of the larger end. Then i drill out the ratchet side and use that with wrench to turn the outer part. (see slp special socket) you should be able to get to them all like this. I would look into some plug wire protective sleeves. They are kinda expensive but worth it in this situation.

Yea, I was thinking about doing that earlier. Im gonna try using something to hold the plug wires away from the headers, maybe next time Ill get a custom kit.

I just put in a set of Champion plugs and MSD Street Fire wires and for the last plug on the drivers side i had to lift the car and put it on underneath. Talk about no room. Maybe try that if you can, i got right to mine that way.

I took a spark plug socket cut off 1/4 inch and it worked fine, got everyone from the top. granted I used a wrench, and only had like 3/16 turns on some of em, those took a while. My hand paid the price to do em all from the top though.
