  • engine won't crank when clutch is fully pressed or auto shifter is in park or neural
  • engine cranks without pressing the clutch or auto shifter in any gear other than P or N
you need an ohm meter to check the switch

If you have either of those 2 problems intermittenly then it is most likely the switch. If it is intermitten then ohm testing may not show a bad switch....but that is the test to use.
