Proper fuel pressure at WOT?

What is the fuel pressure supposed to be at WOT? I hooked a guage up to my GTA and I was running 39.5 @idle and 39.5-40.5 @ WOT. Isn't the fuel pressure supposed to spike around 5-7 PSI under load?

Re: Proper fuel pressure at WOT?

I was doing some thinking, if with the vacuum removed my vehicle is getting 43psi of fuel pressure then I should be seeing atleast that under full throttle. Maybe even slightly more. Think about it, when the enigine is at wot it has no vacuum. If the engine has no vacuum to pull on the regulator you should be getting what the vehicle gets with no vacuum on the regulator which is 43 psi. What do you guys think?

I don't think you'll see a difference in that. You're looking at less than 10% of change, and you're still around 40psi.
I wouldn't sweat it. I doubt it's changing anything, unless you're going lean...

Thats correct. With the vacuum disconnected from the regulator (and plugged), it should match what you have at WOT. It varies somewhat from FPR to FPR, but 43 is about right.

Re: Proper fuel pressure at WOT?

It's more important to know what your injector duty cycle is at WOT. That will tell you a lot more than pressure.

Thats what I was figuring. Sounds like my pump is getting weak.
