I am looking at a 91 Z28 to buy. I just got off the phone with the guy and he said that it came with a 305 and he said that it was an automatic and a hard top. So my question is what is it that I can look for to tell me that this is indeed a Z28 and whether or not it is a 350 or a 305. Would it be in the RPO codes and those are in the console box correct or would it be under the hood. I am just trying to get knowledge for myself before I go over to look at it. Also is there an easy way to look to see if the speedometer is correct or not. It is suppose to have around 78,000 on it and he is asking 6900 for it.
Any help would be appreciated.

vin number, sticker on edge of underside of hood, stampings on the block. my car is a hardtop with an auto and came with a 305. easiest way vin#

Do a carfax for the mileage. Trust me.. I made a mistake and ended up with a car with 217,000 miles instead of the 117,000 the guy claimed it had.. Good thing it was cheap or i would have took the car right back to the guy.
