push rods
push rods
Well after having really really bad luck with two motors in one month time. I am building another l98, question is this. For budget reasons i will be installing a new hydr flat tappet cam and lifters, when i pulled out the existing roller lifter i was shocked to see it was about 1/2 inch longer than the hyd flat tappet liffter. it looks like i will need much longer push rods do they make them for this situation?

Re: push rods
you can get pushrods in almost any length you want . do your homework , order pushrods . measure twice cut once , is an expression used by home builders . this applies to engines 10 times over . good luck .

Re: push rods
Add up the price of the flat tappet cam and new lifters and a new set of pushrods versus just a roller cam. It's going to be within about 50 bucks. Stick with the roller setup, just change the cam and reuse the roller lifters and pushrods. You'll get more power out of the roller cam.
