Base timing on a stock l98?

Hey guys I've never set the timing before on my car and was wondering how many degrees it should be advanced under stock conditions. I have a few bolt ons, headers, msd stuff, injectors, 255 lph pump, etc. Any suggestions?

Stock is 6 degrees, you can go up to 8 or 10 degrees safely. Any more and you can confuse the computer, because its expecting 6 degrees.
