question about vaccum leak.

Hey guys,

Im having hessitation problems with my car. when it gets warm she has issues at idle like she wants to stall. i know its a vaccum leak or so i think.

I did the brake parts cleaner test on all the spots i thought there might be the issue. I just read that sometimes the FPR gasket can cause this. Is this a common thing and would that cause it. When i shut the car off she seems to smell of rich fuel. I didnt hear the motor idle up either when testing it.

Should i see if there is a code or any idea's.

Where are the most common places for this to happen.

Thankyou

Re: question about vaccum leak.

It could also be an injector stuck open.

Re: question about vaccum leak.

It could be a 100 different things. You really need a scanner (or PC/Cable) to see what's going on.

Re: question about vaccum leak.

The codes are here: https://www.thirdgen.org/service-eng...ht-error-codes

Could be a vacuum leak, EGR stuck open, bad injector or two, fouled plugs, bad wires/cap/coil/distributor, tired engine (low compression), bad MAF/MAP, temp sensor, and a bunch of other things. You really need the to see what the ECM sees or you're just throwing parts at it.
