I have a 1990 RS with the 3.1 and an auto trans. Its got 107,000 miles on it. I just bought the car and it wont run. I replaced the starter, fuel filter, battery, cap, and rotor. When I replaced the cap and rotor a few hours ago, it actually started and ran for almost a minute. Which leads me to beleive that its the distributer. I can hear the fuel pump prime, so I know thats not it. Please help!

 

You have to do some basic troubleshooting. Does it have spark? Fuel pressure? Injectors firing? Is your security light flashing?

 

Yea, its getting spark, and the fuel pressure I cant check yet until my pressure checker gets in. I dont have a security light. I just now pulled my Ignition coil, and im looking it over. I know looking doesnt tell you much but then again this thing is the original coil, its got the rust to prove it . Im gunna replace the coil tommoro, since I cant very well do it now, autozone is not open. Im trying to avoid pulling and replacing the dizzy, because Its a 130$ part, and its at the back of the freakin firewall . Thanks for the response! I was beginning to wonder if this was another forum that just ignores people with starting problems. But I see now, its not.
