can anybody tell me why the two back water jackets were plugged off on my 88 firebird? I switched to a carb and when i put the new gaskets on the intake they didnt fit if i put both gaskets on this side up. why? can i just leave those back to jackets open?

Re: head and intake question

Yea, leave the two back jacket holes open in the gaskets if you want, your intake won't have a hole back there anyway. That's how small block chevys do it.
