HELP!!! I have a '91 Camaro and before I haul it off to the mechanic I want to have an idea of what its wrong with it.

As I mentioned before it's a '91 RS shortly after I bought it (about 5 mins actually) I noticed that sometimes it just will not start...the starter does nothing when you turn the key and the security light comes on. Other times when the starter works it fires up just fine. I did some reading and found out that this was most likely a VATS or passkey system problem. Which seemed plausible since my car has a key with a resistor pellet imbeded in it. However as I was getting pretty frustrated with it when it left me sitting and I turned the ignition cylinder WITHOUT the key and much to my surprise it started. So its not the Vats I had the starter replaced and that did nothing. I assume it is an electrical problem? Anyone got any ideas? Please help!

 

Check your nuetral safety switch, ground wires on engine and body, battery connections.
