well after selling my camaro last fall, ive been on the lookout for another toy, ive come across a 84 trans am with a l69 305ho and a auto tranny, t-tops and 373 posi disc rear(thats almost worth what im paying for the car). my question is what kinda mpg do these get. dont get my wrong i dont expect great, but i gotta pass it off to the mrs that it'll be better on gas than my pickup (which gets 8 in town and 13 high way) so that shouldnt be to hard. i know factory rating was something like 14/20 and i have a friend with a 305 ho corvette that pulls 24 highway. so any help would be helpful. i reliaze it depends on the shape of the motor but what should it get.

 

well i have a completely stock l69 with a carb in need of a rebuild and a bad 02 sensor and i usually get 12 mpg
