Emergency fuel question... Please Help!!!

OK.. I think I might have stripped the 3/8 side of the fuel rail inside.. I might have a small shot at repairing it if I new what size tap I would need... Does anyone know? Or know where I can look to find out.. I go back to the shop in the morning to finish the car, and I need it done.. Please let me know somethin.. thanks in advance.

So, it is the intake manifold you stripped? I don't know what tap to use. Usually (Especially with aluminum) it is best to get a heli-coil. All you need for that is to take your bolt into a place that sells these. Most auto parts stores and hardware stores should have them. You can match the heli-coil with your bolt. It will tell you what tap to use on the packaging if I remember right. You tap the hole (STRAIGHT). Put a dab of red lock-tight on the coil. Use the special tool that comes with the heli-coil to put it in. Let the lock-tight set. Then you're good to go.

I did this once to a carb that had a stripped out air filter mounting stud. It was not my car or my doing. I just volunteered to help

I think he actually stripped the fitting into the fuel rail. Which is bad. It's also aluminum, but I don't think it's an application you can heli-coil. You could probably TIME-SERT it, but the time-sert kit is EXPENSIVE. >.<
