TPI 305 Issues
Ok im getting code 34 & 42 when i jump the terminals and watch the flashes of the check engine light. The problem im getting only happens occasionally, it seems like i just turn the key off. Car will be running fine and then just loses all power for a second and then its fine. It also runs a little rough above 3k rpms, im wondering if these codes could have something to do with it also

Re: TPI 305 Issues
According to the trouble code list here, 34 is a low MAF reading and 42 is an EST fault. Both of which, I would be willing to bet on them causing driveability problems.
Now, I can't really speak from experience here cause I've never personally dealt with these specific codes. But, one thing that comes to mind is the EST bypass connector, which gets disconnected to adjust the timing. In this thread, that turned out to be the source of the guy's code 42.
The EST bypass connector is a single wire weather-pack that breaks out of the harness in the engine compartment somewhere over by the HVAC box on the firewall. IIRC the wires it connects are tan in color. Check to make sure this is connected...There are other potential causes of a code 42, that was just a simple one to eliminate right off the bat.
Also,
. Just type in Code 34, or Code 42 in the search and it will bring up a whole bunch of threads. Hope that helps, and good luck!

That connector is connected, i had unhooked it a week ago to check the timing. I will double check it though to make sure it is connected good

Re: TPI 305 Issues
well while reading in another thread i found out that after disconnecting the wire to check/set timing that the battery needed to be unhooked to erase the code it would cause, i didn't know that. So that explains my code 42. So the only problem i have is the MAF, it hasn't caused any problems in the past 2 days though. there is something wrong still though because above 3500rpms its still rough
