disconnecting clutch from block
I'm trying to pull my motor for a 350 swap. It's a 1983 z28 5-spd. I don't know how to get the clutch arm off that swivels on the rod that bolts to the block above the oil filter. any help would be appreciated.

Re: disconnecting clutch from block
it's threaded into the block. 3/8"NC threads, I believe you need a 5/8" wrench to remove the rod. You loosen it from the block, then you have to pry it backwards into the tube. It's tricky, but once you get it free of the block, you can just rotate it away.
Or you can use a 10mm wrench, and remove the two bolts holding the plate down to the frame rail. That's what the tube is held in place with. Then you can just pull the tube a bit out of the way, and the swivel can stay in the block. Your choice.
