How much am I looking at for installation costs?
How much am I looking at for installation costs?
Just wondering if anyone could give a ruff estimate as to waht i would be looking at for installation costs for the following items... I know different places charge different rates but just trying to get in the general area..
Headers
Intake manifold baseplate
Hi flo runners
spark plug and wire swap
cap and rotor
I figured I would do all the above at the same time.. but I don't know much about cars so I don't know how much time all the above would take a shop to do and I really dont want to get raped.. thanks for any input.

Labor only, I assume.
Headers: Depends upon what you get, whether they are bolt in or require modification to the existing exhaust to connect. Could be anywhere from $200 to over a grand.
Base & runners: Assuming you have these done at the same time, probably $300-$500.
Spark plugs: Since they have to come out to have headers installed, put new ones in when it goes back together.
Wires, cap & rotor: I can't imagine paying someone to do that. But, if you insist, you'll probably get charged over $100. It's a simple task, but changing the wires is time consuming. A shop needs to charge you for the time your car is taking up space in their shop (overhead) and for the time they are paying their mechanic to work on it (wages and overhead).
