Replacing a single rod bearing?
Hey Everyone.
Im going to be putting my motor back together. The engines original bearings only have about 10k on them and their mint, so im planning on re-using them.
However, one of the bearings i dropped and theres a score on the face now.
If i use the original bearings on 7 rods and new bearings on 1 rod, will it matter? Will i have assembly issues?
Also, should i be using assembly lubricant on the bearing faces when i install them?
Thanks!

you need to put lube on the bearings when building the motor, as of t he bearing question im not 100% sure but i would play it safe and replace all the bearings.

Perfect! Just means $5 vs $40, doesnt seem like much, but as a broke 18 year old despirit to drive his car again its money i dont have haha.
The motor will get about 6 - 7k put on it before i tear it apart for forged pistons, rods, bigger cam, CNC heads etc etc.
As for bearings, i know i need to lube them, for the LS1's i read that alot of people juts put 30 weight oil on the bearings and assemble it all but i wanted to play it safe and i figure the assembly lubricant is tougher and thicker and will be best for my first start up with it.

If you don't have the money to do it right now, when are you going to have the money to do it over again?

Single bearing is fine but you should plastigage it to make sure the clearances are the same since it will probably come from a different batch. Chances are there will be no difference.
I coat all my bearings with Luberplate assembly lube when I put them in.
