82 z28 title

Ok so I bought an 82 z28 here in colorado and im happy with the car, still needs some work but its good for the moment. Only problem is when the original owner sold it to the next guy the 2nd guy never got the title switched to his name before he sold it to the 3rd owner, they all did a bill of sale (only they wrote it out instead of filling out the form) so I have the original titled signed by all the previous owners and their bill of sales to the next owners all the way up to me. Will the dmv be able to switch the tile to me name since i have the paper trail and the car is not stolen? If not how can i get the title done?? Thanks alot.

I didnt see a spot to put this is so this seemed like the best spot especially since it says ( dont see a board for your problem) If i shouldve out i somewheree else let me know so in the future i know.

I know here in Oregon as long as you have the title and it is signed by the person's who name is on the title they will switch it over.

When I got my 85 Z28 it was in the original owners name the back was signed by him. I am like the 5th owner of the car, so I just signed to back where I needed too and wrote a check out for the title transfer and they guy at the DMV gave me my tags and slip to put into the car until I get the regerstration and title back. This has happend with a few other cars that I have owned in the past and haven't had any problem with them questioning anything.

With the proper paper trail, you should be able to do it.

I had a messy trail of papers on a car we bought about 11 years ago, they took it without problem. But, about a year and a half later, I started getting calls from a state fraud investigator looking into a dealer who was claiming cars were stolen from his lot and submitting insurance claims, wanting me to give him the paper trail on the car - I finally had to tell him to stop calling me and to get the paperwork from the county himself because I didn't keep copies of all that stuff. He finally stopped calling.

Re: 82 z28 title

ok thats what i was hoping to hear. So in your case the title was basically the same way mine is? On mine its signed in the 1st spot by original owner, the 2nd sale spot is signed by the next and the 3rd is signed by the 3rd, and the guy i bought it from (the 3rd guy) just wrote of a bill of sale and signed it. So that should work to get me the title?
