Can I bypass the Oil pressure switch?
Can I bypass the Oil pressure switch?
If i wanna by pass the switch can i just connect the wires and run the third one to a gauge?
I'm swapping from tbi to carb. so i'm trying to get rid of all the relays and computer. to clean out the bay but with out the oil pressure switch the car dies.

If you do that, your fuel pump will run continuously.

just leave it in place and wire the fuel pump relay to engauge with the ignition in the run position to power the pump. It will function as a backup for the fuel pump relay should it fail like it does in a factory setup. Depending on what year you car is it may also send the reading to your oil pressure gauge. Also unless your fuel pump relay is bad the engine will not die without the oil pressure switch, it's not a saftey switch, it's a backup for the fuel pump relay. Moderator

When switching to a carb the fuel pump relay becomes useless and you'll need to rely on the oil pressure switch.
